In 2017, I finished a 365 Sketch Project. That means that I roughly did a sketch a day. This year, I was ready to do 1 illustration a week. I started the year ripping and roaring to go, but then got sorely disappointed when I didn't even come close to finishing the illustration with a week.
And then it dawned on me...
I was trying to start the year at the point where I was hoping to end the year. It's going to take time, with a lot of practice, in order to be able to create a high quality illustration within a week - as well as do other things.
So, what's the solution?
I'm going to have 52 illustrations done by the end of the year. What are they going to be about? No idea. How long will they take? We'll see. My problem was that I was hyper focused on finishing each project before I could move on to another so much so that it rail-roaded my progress. I couldn't get anything done, and I was preventing myself from moving on. So, now I'm starting a lot of illustrations... and we'll see which ones get completed by the end of the year.
