I just got news. Whatever course I have been on is about to come to a crossroads... If you're not familiar with this course, let me fill you in: My husband (we can call him the Judge) got a job offer in the Netherlands. This job offer came with a deal that a certain percentage of our income will go untaxed, in order to incentivize our moving here. It worked, as we are now in love with this country... but we just learned that this deal is stopping a full 3 years earlier than expected.
Which means: it's buckle down time or we're outta here. I have a year and a half to get my shiznit together. So far, I've learned that I have the potential (the eye, the artistry, the creativity, the potential) to be a lucrative digital artist. I just don't have the practice / know how. I have between now and then to get it, so that this can be a real jobby job for me. I have the potential to make good, original work, but it's taking me foreverrrr. And now it is time to buckle down and do the grunt work - the sketches, the practices, the tutorials, the calculations, the studies, the goals. Oy vey, the goals. It's so hard to talk my creative side into following a disciplined routine, but the countdown has begun!
It is time for me to learn how to take a sketch to finished product in efficient time.
With last year's tutorials, I now know how to study things... now I need to learn how to finish things. Here goes nothing! And by that, I mean, here goes everything.
